As we hit the tail end of the MLB season, some stats begin to come into shape. One player that stands out to me is Robert Acuna Jr.
If you don't really know who Ronald is, watch the highlight video pinned above. We'll start off with some of his stats. He's got a .297 batting average, 35 Homers, and 85 RBIs via Baseball Reference, all as of August 17, 2019. His team is doing all right, currently 72-52, due to him, with Acuna statistically being their best player.
Acuna is a second year veteran, has won 4 awards last year, those being:
Players Choice Outstanding Rookie Award
Rookie of the Month Award (August 2018)
MLB Rookie of the Year Award
Sporting News Rookie of the Year
Daniels Sports Report Player of the Month August 2019
Ronald is the oldest of 4 sons, and gets is nack for Baseball from his father and grandfather, Ronald Acuna Sr and Romualdo Blanco, who both played in the minors. Ronald Sr played 8 years in the minors and bounced around international teams for 3 seasons. Not much is known about Romualdo Blanco but we do know he was a minor league pitcher. Ronald and his family are from La Guaira, Venezuela. It has been a family dream for Ronald Acuna Jr, the first to fulfill the family goal of making it to the major league.
Back to him and his sport now. He played a total of 4 seasons in the minors and is in his 2nd season in the MLB. He has hit a total of 91 home runs in his baseball career, and is one of MLBs most promising talent. His outfeild glove is like glue, and his bat is terrific. Is he the next MLB superstar?
