Pete Alonso is truly the only reason along with Jacob degrom that the Mets are even in any contention to make the postseason. I mean just look at his stats, keep in mind he is doing this as a rookie.
He is tied for first in Home runs with 45 (with Mike Trout ) and 105 RBI which is very good. He does have an under.270 avg but he is one of those hitters that you will see mash the ball but won’t hit for a high average. He also has a 960. OPS (on base plus slugging). Expect Pete Alonso to be in the NL MVP talks for the next couple of years.
Pete Alonso Was drafted out of Florida university by the New York Mets in the 2nd round (64th pick) in 2016. Immediately after getting drafted he showed to have a glimpse of stardom in AA with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Pete went of in the 2018 season, between AA ponies and AAA 51s he hit 36 homers and 119 RBI, while hitting 285 and an OPS 975. Those are MVP types of numbers in AA. His Best season with the Florida Gators in college was 14 homers and 60 rbi. So he didn’t really have a too great college career, but the Mets made one good decision in the last decade to pick him as a steal.
Polar bear Pete was born in December of 1994. Alonso was raised in Florida. his nationality is American and White is his ethnicity. Alonso studied in "Jesuit High School" in for his first two years of high school in Tampa, Florida. Then he was transferred to "Henry B. Plant High School" in Tampa to complete his high school. Alonso started playing baseball since his young age, for the school’s baseball team as a third baseman. He enrolled at the "University of Florida", where he played college baseball as the first baseman for the Florida Gators.
Pete Alonso is one of the MLB up and coming stars and the Mets hold his bright future in their hands. Polar Bear Pete has ice in his veins when it comes down to clutch situations.
