Is Daniel Jones a Boom, or bust?

Daniel Kennedy

Daniel Jones during his collage career at Duke University

Known as one of the strangest selections in the 1st round ever, with the giants picking him with the 6th overall selection instead of the 17th overall pick as projected, Daniel Jones raised some eyebrows. First off, if you didn't read the caption, Daniel Jones went to school at Duke University, and tried to prove that Duke isn't just a basketball school. He did all right, his full college record being just over .500, 34-30. He threw for about 8200 yards over his 4 seasons, very decent for a collage quarterback.

But what made the Giants reach for him? They had a statistically better Dwayne Haskins available, so why didn't they just take him? We're obviously thinking they must see something special in him. He performed average at the combine, but what i think they think is that he isn't necessarily a superstar, and he doesnt have to be anytime soon, but they want to build around him after Eli Manning retries. Once he learns his playbook, and the Giants learn how to use him, and get assets that fit his play style, he could blossom into a pro bowler.

"I hope Eli has a great year and Daniel never sees the field" – Giants owner John Mara quoted. I personally think this is stupid. I do believe that Eli Manning is going to start this season, but i would like to see Daniel Jones getting some feild time this season.
